Torsten’s main responsibilities include leading the secretariat for the Nordic Working Group on Renewable Energy and Hydrogen (NAFH) and the Nordic-Baltic Networking Group on CCUS – Nordic energy research (NgCCUS). He also serves as a liaison between the Nordic Council of Ministers Secretariat in Copenhagen and Nordic Energy Research.

Torsten has extensive experience in government administration from both Greenland and Denmark, particularly within energy, environment, and planning, as well as general ministerial support, including large-scale energy projects. Before joining Nordic Energy Research, he worked as a government official for Naalakkersuisut (the Government of Greenland) at the Ministry of Agriculture, Self-Sufficiency, Energy and Environment and, prior to that, the Ministry of Environment in Denmark.

Torsten holds an M.Sc. in Landscape Management with a focus on environment, planning, public administration, and law from the University of Copenhagen, a B.A. in Geography from the University of Copenhagen, and a mini-MBA from Aros Business Academy.
