The Nordic Working Group on Renewable Energy and Hydrogen (Nordisk Arbejdsgruppe for Fornybar energi og Hydrogen) brings together governmental representatives from the Nordic countries.
The working group was established in 2023 by the Nordic Committee of Senior Officials for Energy Policies (EK-E) under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
Mandate 2025–2027
The working group’s mandate is to support the implementation of Nordic Vision 2030 and to contribute to the Nordic Co-operation Programme for Energy 2025–2030 and the Work Plan 2025–2027 for Nordic energy policy cooperation.
Working group objectives
Based on its mandate, the working group aims to promote renewable energy and clean hydrogen in the Nordic region by:
- Contribute to strengthening energy security and security of supply across the Nordic region, for example, by sharing experience on framework conditions for renewable energy
- Contribute to strengthening Nordic advantages in the energy transition and innovation, for example, through cooperation on developing Nordic hydrogen value chains
- Support the Nordic region’s position in international energy cooperation through joint Nordic efforts towards the EU and beyond
- Support Nordic co‑operation to ensure a sustainable Nordic energy transition
Nordic Energy Research provides secretariat support for NAFH on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
