As Head of Communications and a member of the management team, Maria leads the communications department and ensures that all communication efforts align with the institution’s strategy. She works closely with the rest of the management team to support the implementation of Nordic Energy Research’s Strategy 2030.
Maria has extensive experience in strategic communication and public affairs. Before joining Nordic Energy Research, she spent over a decade working with strategic communication in Sweden and the Nordics, most recently as Nordic Director at a Swedish public affairs firm specialising in sustainability. She has also worked in communication for the Moderate Party in the Swedish Parliament and for Sweden’s largest and most influential business federation.
Maria holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Uppsala University, with additional studies in Political Science and Media & Communication. She has also studied at the London School of Economics and Macquarie University.
