With nearly 30 years of experience in energy, environment, and climate issues, Klaus has worked extensively across the Nordics and internationally.
As CEO of Nordic Energy Research, Klaus’ main responsibilities, in addition to the daily management of the institution, include assisting in setting the agenda for energy policy cooperation between the Nordic countries, providing a shared knowledge base, and promoting common energy policy objectives. Klaus is frequently invited as a keynote speaker, and you will often see him at various energy events.
Klaus holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Copenhagen. Before joining Nordic Energy Research, he was Head of Energy Economics and Regulation at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He has extensive board experience having served as a member of the Energy Board of Appeal in Denmark and on the board and chaired a programme under the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). Klaus has also represented Denmark as a national expert in the international ISGAN collaboration on Smart Grids.
