The aim of the call is to strengthen mobility, networks, and long-term collaboration between energy researchers&nbsp;in the Nordic-Baltic&nbsp;region.&nbsp;The research consortia should promote research activities that contribute to the fulfilment of Nordic Energy Research&#8217;s\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicenergy.org\/about\/strategy-2030\/\">Strategy 2030<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strategy 2030 puts focus on three strategic areas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increased sustainability and energy security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improved Nordic energy stronghold and competence building<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stronger in international energy cooperation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for submissions is\u202f<strong>12 May\u202f<\/strong>at<strong>\u202f13:00<\/strong>\u202f(CEST).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Budget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The total budget allocated for this call is 13 MNOK&nbsp;for Nordic\u202fproposals&nbsp;and&nbsp;4.3 MNOK for\u202fNordic-Baltic\u202fproposals. \u202fApplicants may request up to 4.3&nbsp;MNOK per project for a maximum duration of four years, starting in 2026.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nordic Energy Research invites applicants from all academic disciplines in the Nordic-Baltic&nbsp;countries, including but not limited to engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, economics, and law, as well as interdisciplinary research areas. Applicants are encouraged to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration involving industry stakeholders, policymakers, and\/or consumer advocates.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications must be&nbsp;submitted&nbsp;by a consortium consisting of at least three Nordic higher education institutions from three different Nordic countries (Denmark,&nbsp;Finland, Iceland,&nbsp;Norway,&nbsp;Sweden, the Faroe Islands,&nbsp;Greenland,&nbsp;and&nbsp;\u00c5land). The Baltic countries\u202fconsist of\u202fEstonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Companies may\u00a0participate\u00a0<strong>as project partners and receive funding<\/strong>, or\u00a0<strong>as observers providing in-kind contributions<\/strong>.\u00a0<br\/><\/p> <\/div> <div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1773223450811\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\"><strong>Can experts from outside the Nordic or Baltic region\u00a0participate?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">Relevant experts from outside the Nordic region (for Nordic projects) or outside the Nordic and Baltic region (for Nordic-Baltic projects) may\u00a0participate\u00a0in project activities.\u00a0<br\/><br\/>However,\u00a0<strong>their travel and accommodation costs cannot be covered by this programme<\/strong>.\u00a0<br\/><br\/>Programme funding\u00a0<strong>may be used to provide an honorarium or speaker fee<\/strong>, including for speakers from outside the Nordic or Baltic region.\u00a0<\/p> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-white-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-white-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Budget and funding<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1773223533731\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\"><strong>What\u00a0costs\u00a0can\u00a0the\u00a0funding cover?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">The funding supports\u00a0<strong>mobility, networking, and knowledge-sharing activities<\/strong>. It cannot be used to fund the research itself.\u00a0<br\/><br\/>Applicants must divide their budget into three categories:\u00a0\u00a0<br\/><br\/><strong><em>Planning and\u00a0administration<\/em><\/strong><em><strong> <\/strong>(max 20%):\u00a0<\/em><br\/>Salaries\u00a0<br\/>Planning\u00a0and management\u00a0<br\/>Travel\u00a0and accommodation\u00a0for organising\u00a0activities.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<br\/><br\/><strong><em>Mobility costs<\/em><\/strong><em>:<\/em>\u00a0<br\/>Short-term and long-term exchanges\u00a0must only cover\u00a0the\u00a0additional\u00a0expenses of a PhD student, post-doctorate, or researcher for performing an exchange. This includes accommodation, travel and commuting,\u00a0and\u00a0additional\u00a0costs for staying abroad.\u00a0<br\/>Recommended\u00a0monthly rates for research stays abroad:\u00a0Single: NOK 25\u00a0000 per\u00a0month\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<br\/>Family: NOK\u00a043\u00a0000 per month\u202f\u00a0\u202f\u00a0\u00a0<br\/><br\/><strong><em>Events<\/em><\/strong><em>:<\/em>\u202f\u00a0<br\/>Funding covers allowances of speakers, refreshments, food, workshop material, and other costs related to hosting an event etc. Funding also covers direct costs related to travel, accommodation, and subsistence allowance for project participants\u00a0participating\u00a0in events.\u00a0<br\/>\u00a0<br\/><strong><em>Communication and dissemination<\/em><\/strong><em>:<\/em>\u202f\u00a0<br\/>Salaries: Salaries for communication and dissemination activities should be restricted to cover added workload for communication and dissemination of the project by administrative or scientific staff. This includes accommodation, travel and commuting, and\u00a0additional\u00a0costs for staying abroad.\u00a0<br\/><br\/>It is a prerequisite that the PhD student, post-doctorate, or researcher receiving funding from the category\u00a0<em>mobility costs\u00a0<\/em>has existing funding for salaries or scholarships from the participating partners.\u202f\u00a0<\/p> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-white-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-white-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mobility exchange duration<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1773223753035\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\"><strong>How do you understand\u00a0a long stay\u00a0(\u22653 months), and what is the limit?<\/strong>\u202f<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">There is not a settled limit for long-term stays for PhDs, but\u00a0a long stay\u00a0is usually defined as 3\u201312 months.\u00a0Researchers\/postdocs\u00a0are only allowed exchanges up to 3 months with funding from this call.\u00a0<\/p> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-white-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-white-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The annual mobility workshop<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1773223823753\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\"><strong>When does the joint workshop usually happen?
